LONG TIME MEMBER OF WOOLPERT’S TEAM EMBARKS ON NEW VENTURE WITH FORMATION OF SITTON CONSTRUCTION GROUP

Belleville, Ill., June 29, 2007... Doug Sitton, a 27-year veteran of the design and construction industry in the St. Louis Metropolitan area, today announced the formation of Sitton Construction Group.  The newly established firm, which officially begins operations July 1, 2007, will provide a range of hands-on services to help project owners manage their capital projects more cost-effectively.  Sitton Construction Group, which is located in Belleville, Ill., can be reached at 314.412.5677 or on the web at www.sittoncg.com.

Sitton has been with Woolpert, a Top 100 national engineering, architecture and planning firm, for more than 16 years. He joined Woolpert in 1991 and advanced to partner and vice president of the firm. He will continue an alliance with Woolpert, partnering on current, as well as future projects.

Sitton Construction Group enters the market with an alternative approach to project management services in the design and construction industry, as the firm will serve as an independent agent of the owner, customizing services to most cost-effectively meet the owner’s needs on each project. Specific services will include project planning, site selection, delivery method selection, budget management, and both design and construction administration, along with many others.

Sitton also will draw on his significant management and business development experience to offer management consulting services to architectural and engineering firms who are interested in enhancing their operations. Specific services in this area range from development of new strategic plans and marketing and sales processes, to leadership development, issues resolution and process improvement.

“My goal with this new venture is to draw on my diverse experience, gained over almost 30 years in this industry, to help clients work collaboratively, think systemically, and innovate continuously to sustain high performance and growth,” notes Sitton.

Previous clients represent multiple markets, including state government, counties, municipalities, higher education and K-12 school districts, private companies and developers.  His work includes both facilities and infrastructure projects.

Sitton also is an active community leader. He belongs to the Regional Chamber and Growth Association (RCGA) of St. Louis as a board member and chairman of the Illinois Public Affairs Committee, the Leadership Council of Southwestern Illinois as a past president and current Executive Committee Member, and the Belleville Area Chamber of Commerce as a past president. He also is a director of the Bank of Belleville.
